Medication safety, anesthesia, nutrition, anxiety, postoperative symptoms, and optional healing adjuncts require the same individualized risk assessment.

Review healing adjuncts and supportive care

A diagnosis alone rarely determines candidacy. Disease stability, dose and route of medication, anesthesia needs, procedure extent, and maintainability should be evaluated together.

Review medical conditions and medications

When a problem is suspected, the next step is diagnosis—not an assumption that every symptom is caused by the implant material. Compare monitoring, repair, salvage, removal, reconstruction, and nonimplant options.

Review complications, failures, and retreatment

Material sensitivity concerns require the same structured approach: identify the complete device, distinguish allergy from inflammation or failure, and interpret testing within the clinical picture.
